A modern human resources policy and favourable working conditions

As a leading-edge employer, the Federal Criminal Court is able to offer modern working conditions and ancillary benefits, with fascinating, varied and highly motivating work in a multilingual environment with excellent facilities.

Teamwork is essential to ensure the efficient, modern administration of justice. Cooperation between judges, clerks and other staff in the Court’s General Secretariat greatly helps to achieve this objective.

Prospective court clerks will have completed their legal studies, preferably having passed the bar examination or obtained a postgraduate qualification or doctorate. At least one year of work experience is desirable, ideally within the areas of jurisdiction of the Federal Criminal Court (e.g. economic crime [money laundering or corruption], organised crime and international mutual assistance in criminal matters).

The chancelleries are responsible for administrative handling and tracking of case files. For this reason, applicants for chancellery posts should have completed a Swiss VET programme in commerce and should have at least one year of work experience. Very good knowledge of two of Switzerland’s official languages is also required, along with strong IT and organisational skills.

Applicants holding various qualifications are sought for the wide variety of services that the General Secretariat provides: i.e. specialists in accounting, IT and human resources, court ushers, security guards, logisticians and library staff. Apart from the usual professional competences required, a good knowledge of two of Switzerland’s official languages is also needed for these roles.
